The preschool program continues to focus on self-help skills and social awareness. The children are exposed to many types of dramatic play and music, language development and motor skills. Although introduced in the 3 year old program, number and letter recognition, letter sounds and early writing skills become more focused in the 4 year old program. We rely on hands-on approach to learning; therefore, the use of worksheets is limited. 5 year olds who are enrolled in our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program are given many chances to become more self-directed. Emphasis on auditory, visual, motor and language are fostered through a multi-sensory approach with a continued emphasis on kindergarten readiness skills based on sound early childhood practices.
